WATAUGA, TX
Cody is still in the same area for going on three months. He has been doing well with baptisms. Was surprise to see a "accept friend" request on fb, by his last convert. Was glad to meet up with her and get the scoop on our missionary. He reports nothing new, weather still warm, and really keeping busy. though he is ready to return to a driving area, for he is getting tired of biking. Does mention how his legs are started to look. Sorry I haven't been keeping up with the blog. I seem to catch many of you on fb. I will return and try to do my best with this blog.

SIX MONTH ANNIVERSARY!
Cody is doing well, and he still in the Watagua area of Texas. He has a baptism this Saturday, one set-up for October, and working on setting up anther one. Their goal for this month is three. If all baptism go through this will be number 10 for him. We are please and proud that he chose do the lords work. His strong spirit is greatly missed around the home.
Today also marks the six months for him. Only 18 to go, but who's counting? I am of course.

Well, Cody manage another transfer. He has been transfer every month since he joined the mission field on April 1, 2009 in TX. Cody is now serving in the Watauga area. He left his last area Decatur/Gainsville, with three baptism appointment and one wedding date. He is now in a biking area only, which he states is very few in this mission. Watauga is just short north of Fort Worth Tx.

Gangster Barrington

This is a picture that Cody sent to us. He refers to it as "Gangster Barrington". What a look! Cody is doing well and back to his normal day activities. Of course, he needs a care package. Didn't I just send one two weeks ago? Well, anyway, glad to see that Cody is doing well. He currently is serving in two areas - Decatur and Gainsville. This means that he and his companion has no time to waste. They are looking at possible five baptism for the month of August, if anything stays on schedule.

PERICARDITIS
This past Thursday, Elder Barrington (Cody), was hospitalized for Pericarditis. He was released Friday, and put on complete rest Friday and Saturday. I had spoken with Sister Thurston (mission mom), she is watching carefully over Elder Barrington, and is looking into more information regarding this diagnosis. I am eagerly waiting a phone call from her. As soon as I hear something I will let you all know. We also have a call into Pres. Knudsen of the York Ward. (need medical input on condition). This is all I know right at this time. Please continue to keep him in your prayers. Thank you.
Pericarditis is a swelling and irritation of the pericardium, the thin sac-like membrane that surrounds your heart. Pericarditis often causes chest pain and sometimes other symptoms. Pericarditis is usually sudden and short-lived (acute). When symptoms develop more gradually or persist, the condition is considered chronic. The sharp chest pain associated with pericarditis occurs when the inflamed or irritated two layers of the pericardium rub against each other.
Mild cases may improve on their own. Treatment for more-severe cases may include medications and, rarely, surgery. Early diagnosis and treatment may help to reduce the risk of long-term complications.

FIRE!
The following is an email from Elder Barrington: July 10, 2009
Well mom and dad, your probably wondering why I am writing you a email a day late. Yesterday was my normal/scheduled P-Day. Well at about 12:30 a.m. my companion and I received a phone call from one of the members of the Gainsville ward. (we have to apartments bye the way, one I Decatur, and the other in Gainsvilee ). We wear in the Decatur apartment at the time. The apartment currently has no electric. They forgot to pay the bill. Ok, any ways, we got this call from brother Davidson, from the gainsville ward. He calls to tell us that the fire3 marshal just called him and told him that there was a fire above the Apartment that we have in Gainsvlle. So, we now have one apartment on fire and one with out electricity. “we have very good luck” Now, brother Davidson told us that we are supposed to go and empty every thing that’s left out of the apartment, so that they can clean up and refurbish. By the time the phone call was done it about 1. after witch we had to call our mission president. Ok, long story short, we didn’t get back to sleep until about 4 a.m.. We then drive the 40 miles to gainsville and have some of the high priest help us clean out the apartment. We are now currently staying in a members in law courters. We didn’t even get time to sleep. So today is our P-day.. Luckly nothing was destroyed. I still have every thing, it just smells of smoke. Thank you for the prays.

CHIGGERS

I received a letter and package the other day. Cody writes that the temps have been in the 100's and he doesn't ever want to hear us complain about the heat here. Also, he got into a nest of chiggers. He writes, "Did you know that putting finger nail polish on them hurts more than alcohol? They are painful, and they itch like heck. Luckily, they are dead now, and the polish worked. It pulled off some hair though, but it worked.
